And yes I realize that that wasn't final of course, I'm just pointing it out.|||LoLz! Its not final version lol!
But I do get your point. I actually think they should go for a less typical design for an airship. Something more fanciful I suppose...|||I think there should be a min range on the cannons too. When they were over the bridge and the cannons shot, the trajectory was like the gravitational pull was that of Jupiters.. out about 5 foot and straight down.. looks cheesy. Should have a bit more horizontal travel, imo. A min distance would achieve that.|||Or a change of the angle of the cannon barrels perhaps?|||Yeah, changing the barrel to show a more direct trajectory, especially over a short distance like nearly under the vessel would be much better visually.|||Ozz13|||But that makes it absolutely impossible to theorycraft battles, if you add in firing TIME randomness. Besides, Frontloading is better than damage over time.|||IsikBala|||chosan|||Ozz13|||IsikBala|||You could make a toggle, so if you're fighting an army you go for the multifire.|||my personal preference would be a powerful, fairly long range attack on the cannons, but with quite a harsh minimum range. This, coupled with slow movement, would make the airship a powerful support unit if used well, but ineffective if you let them get underneath you.
Unless you have two, in which case you just win...|||Perhaps when it comes to dealing with enemies directly below.. burning oil could be used to set troops on fire. Cannons shouldn't be able to fire straight down.
I agree with turn speed. Min radius and slower turn radius would provide a good opportunity for your units to deal with it via micro'ing to stay out of harms way.|||Ozz13|||Might be cool to have a separate flying unit with very low hit points to do the oil dropping on ground troops --- basically just an air to ground unit.
If you don't protect your workers it would just fry them easily.|||Right. Airship hulls are radially symmetrical. My canoe is designed with rocker, which means the keel is curved upward at the ends. Not so in airships.
