Kings and Castles Q&A

Chris was nice enough to agree to a Q&A about the game in email format when he gets back from vacation next month. I made a post here http://www.gamereplays.org/supremecommander2/portals.php?show=news&news_id=606762 for the Q&A about taking the best community questions for it.|||1) What prompted you -CT- and GPG to make a fantasy/medieval RTS?
2) What has GPG learnt about making an enjoyable game from working with Square Enix on supcom2?
3) Will CT appear as an easter egg unit in the game? (please yes) ;)|||that is nice :)
About catapults; will they be really powerful and long range beasts and really hard to get, or will they be a numerous spam-unit?|||1. What population cap might we be looking at for Kings and Castles?
2. How many players in a skirmish/multiplayer game?
3. Will siege be a big part of this game, or is the point in the game when the enemy knocks at your gate gg?(Will making a castle with walls and towers, defending it be a good strategy?)
4. How will the economy work?
5. How long could one expect the average game to be?
6. Will there be upgrades for weapons that make them glow?(if there is i will be forced to post a very sad smiley face)|||I don't think you guys are supposed to put your questions here.|||I realized that so i copied them to gamereplays just now. ^^|||re1wind|||Questions here are fine too. I read these forums a lot.|||What's the ideal unit count for each side (not unit cap, but how many units each side has)? Will one side have a wide variety of units with which to use, while a different faction has a few selection of units that are generally more powerful?
How have your experiences with Supreme Commander, Forged Alliance, and Supreme Commander 2 affected your decisions for the development Kings and Castles?
What inspired the change from futuristic combat to a Medieval style game?|||Can you tell us anything more about the two known sides -the empire and ancients- besides the information in the vlogs? Any information on the third side? Or the fourth side? :)
How will K&C deal with magic, particularly with magical spells, both passive and active, and will they be rare, high-end items or somewhere in the middle of the tech tree?
How many types of dragons will the game have? Or rather, how many have you currently planned on putting into the game, and on a related note, how rare would mythical animals be in the K&C universe? Have you considered having several kinds of dragons, spread between the sides that all have unique looks and ways they work? (i.e. land-only dragon, sea-serpent, flying dragon)
Is ostrich and bear cavalry planned for K&C? If not, why?
Will the game's magic be based around popular fantasy-magic involving signs on the ground and pentagrams? If so, why?|||But who was phone?|||-Will the game feature a well written Campaign with mature characters, dialogues and so forth?
-Will Jeremy Soule do the soundtrack?
-Will you take the time to finish the game and not set the release date in stone too early?|||GreyStreet|||Polynomial|||I imagine Howard Mostrom will do the soundtrack.|||Will CT wear something other than a black T-shirt in a VBlog?
How many viewers does each blog get?
How are their efforts to secure publishing going?|||What kind of modding/map support can we expect?
Will there be a large unit count like FA, or smaller unit count with no role overlaps like every other RTS? (Please be the first one)
How many races will there be?
Will strategic zoom of some sort be implemented/expanded upon?
Will the game be focused on large numbers of units per battle like Supreme Commander or be more "tactical" like Warcraft 3/CnC?|||Everyone is asking about modding, so I imagine a question will go in there.
I think CT mentioned 3 races, but that's a good question for this time in development.|||Are we restricted to questions only?
Are suggestions possible?|||Will there finally be a Legion unit?|||cromerion|||Polynomial|||Polynomial|||What are your plans to distinguish Kings and Castles from a generic fantasy world with dragons and soldiers and archers and knights?|||FieryBalrog
