There may NOT be a console version after all...

This is honestly GOOD news to me. I sent Chris an email about KnC, and he answered with an interesting tidbit. Here's the exchange:
Me:
Quote:|||Hm... that would be odd, since they really wanted to push into the console market and also do a PS3 version.|||interesting bit of news there. doesn't really affect me (PC all the way), but it's still nice to know that GPG isn't holding back... not that we had any reason to think that from what we've seen so far.|||If this happens to be genuine.....
Yes, YES, YES!, YES!!!
IN YOUR FACE CONSOLE N00BS!!!
PC RTS for the MF-WINCAKE!|||Stin|||GOOD GOOD
RTS games build with limitations of the old hardware of a xbox in mind is bad.
(see what impact it had on supcom2)|||How did sup2 do saleswise on the xbox? Maybe not so well, so they're not gonna bother with a console KnC. :?|||Well the 360 version got very good reviews (mostly between 8 and 9 out of 10) and was recommended highly, but I guess everyone was still busy playing Halo Wars.
As for the number of sales made? I can't find anything. I guess only GPG employees know that.|||That's interesting news.
I must say, I am impressed that Chris Taylor is good about actually answering emails sent to crackedout@gaspowered.com. I sent an email commenting on some stuff in SupCom and Demigod, and was surprised to get a short personal reply a few days later.|||oraton|||I'm not opposed to different platforms being used, but I'd like some differentiation between them. The PC version will play to the PC's strength while the console version will have unique features just for the console. I like what GPG is doing here, letting everyone take advantage of their particular platforms.|||Falcrack|||seiya|||seiya|||Febuary 24th. And it was 4 sentences. Since I am not repeating his words, I think it is safe to copy what I wrote.
Quote:|||Hm... Maybe he missed it or something.|||Eh, some of my lack of confidence in mailing right now is that if he had responded, I would not have bought the game. As it is, I went in on a bad assumption and to quote someone else, "felt like my butt got violated".|||seiya|||Spooky|||Well I send an email to crackedout and he did reply to my surprise a week after. So yea, he does checks it and tries to reply to most of them if you keep it short. Asked him about necromancers and he said rising the dead is in the game.|||he replied me and my budd aswell, so he definatly reads the mails|||He replies to me almost every single time, i just keep it short, one or two sentences.|||Stin|||Spooky|||I mostly agree with the Pinguin here. I believe ports and games developed for consoles and PC aren't taking full advantage of either platform and in the end, one version will be inferior to the other. PCs are restricted from using new advances in technology while consoles are overburdened with the requirements of a PC game. I think out of a series, the console and PC versions should not aspire to be the same. The console version should be separately designed to appeal to console audiences and take advantage of the consoles hardware and control schemes. PC versions should be designed with only PCs in mind, taking advantage of newer technologies and hardware.
However, I do not in any way condone the arrogant manner of PC gamers towards players of other platforms, or the belief of many that PC gamers are somehow entitled to good games and as a result pirate many games. The sense of superiority that many gamers feel and their often terrible conduct towards console gamers baffles me. Perhaps it is based on their socioeconomic status (or to take the words of a certain forum member, "crybabies who can't get good computers"), or possibly from their upbringing, but this behavior I believe is self-destructive.
