Vlog #10

Also, I noticed this during the video:
Image|||Me still think dragon needs to be at least twice as big to actually pass off as intimidating.|||Very cool. So there's a new faction: the Ancients. They have some floating Rosetta Stone library structure. That dragon looks nice and has good effects on its fire breath, although fire-breathing dragons are a bit generic.|||Ahahah. You have too much time on your hands :D
The interesting thing in that short clip of the game wasn't immediately the dragon or the footsoldiers, but the terrain and wall in the background. also dragon & the inserted frame in the dragon vs footman fight. luff. Looking very nice so far.
The dragon is probably 3 stories tall while crouching and 6 stories tall when Burninating the Countryside. or 6m tall while crouching and 12m tall while burninating things. That's very intimidating. Also, the transition from walking to idle seems a bit disjointed.
Dragon is Tech1 unit. Hah. :D

Good video, actual substance, More like this CT!|||Gnats3|||Gnats3|||Actually, Nifty would go crazy over the fact that there is a slight glide on the legs. He'd say, "What the hell?! The dragon is sliding by a minuscule amount that is not normally noticeable in gameplay conditions! This game sucks, I'm not buying it!!!"
For the record, I think the animation looks awesome.|||BulletMagnet|||So people have accepted the nose of the dragon..?
I'm a bit sad about it, since it makes me laugh at it, a bit.. :( Don't wanna laugh at a dragon :(
How come it's sneaking..? A dragon is majestic, not something that has to creep.. It looks okay, but then I think about the fact that it's a freaking scary dragon.. The footmen, irl, would either run away or fight it, so why sneak..?
I hope it's something it only does when it's close to enemies.. Not something it would do across an entire map(it would probably use its wings anyways)..
So 3 weeks of dragon.. They're spoiling us :oops:|||I am guessing they're going for a Komodo dragon walking style, or if you don't know what that is, any old reptile: Lizard, crocodile, etc. Then again, from a biomechanics point of view those legs are a bit strange if its going to walk like that.
Also, look at kangaroo's hind legs to get inspiration for an animal that can stand on hind legs and tail and walk/hop on all fours.|||From its idle stance to its creeping walk, there's too much of a difference between the two.. They could go for the Komodo dragon walking style, but the Komodo dragon doesn't even walk with its head that close to the ground..
Also look how long the neck is.. Too low to the ground imo..|||The dragon doesn't need to be bigger really, when compared to the footmen who will hopefully make up the larger part of an army, its huge.
Loving the look of the game so far. Problem is i want this game now!|||Hey, looking reasonable this week Chris and the team. I wasn't aware of the term grey boxing, it's interesting to get a peek into your workflow.
I wonder what's coming next now, as I'm left with the distinct feeling that there has to be something remarkably different to come in next week's vlog.
