What I saw by now:
1. huge armies of 1 single unit
2. experimental-like fantasy units. this is new to medieval games, but not that new. we know it from supcom and supcom2
3. a king, mainly the medieval ACU.
What I didnt see a lot of:
1. Castle: What will the castle be? Just a building with upgrades, like the citadel in Demigod? Will it be as cool as in Stronghold?
2. Special things the game will have? What will make the big difference between Aoe II and K&C?
3. Innovations (except for SUpCom features like tech tree, Zoom and so on brought on to a fantasy-medieval game)
The scenes looked well so far, but no real "WOW"-moment so far.
Would you guys have an idea what could make the game special?
I really would like to have a full warfare experience. Not only units but also building up really a cool fortified castle like in Stronghold, that would be cool.
Maybe one could also introduce some kind of trade system between allied kings? (we had that in a way in AoEII with carawans) I think it could be cool, if one king specialises on producing wood, and others on getting stone and gold. Then they can share.
Reintroduce the good old tech system with some combination of the tech tree would be awesome too. At least I dont want to see the "all existing units get uprades immediately" anymore
Maybe one could introduce some bonus-things on maps. I think we wont have radar anymore in K&C, but maybe there could be scout towers on the map, that cannot be built by players, but conquered like flags in demigod? Or special economy buildings, that need to be fight for.|||What I'd like to see, and it's just a recreation (but gives a life like feel), is workers building the buildings and assiting ENABLED! I know it's not new, but it just gives it a great feel than it just appearing. Especially on the castle... hundreds of workers doin' their thang on the castle hungreds of feet in the air. Awesome.|||Don't forget there is a whole forum for making suggestions for improvements, which I'm sure you've used, and which would be the place to talk about this in more detail. Also, there will be a lot of new stuff and changes over the next year or so as the game develops.|||Shadowfury333|||Why does this new game have to be revolutionary? Why can't it take on old ideas and make them new? in fact,
Quote:|||me too. what atracts me to this game is that it seems to based on several old Idears and features that haven't been used for ages and are now incorporated in to a single game.
so, what the other guy said.|||thecommanderD|||What. No experimental units in a medieval game? It seems you guys never have played spellforce 2? (Which is an awesome game btw.)|||VoW-Kryo|||DeadMG
