- No way to easily enable/disable them
- No easy place to find and download them
- Only one mod installed at a time
- Limited amount of things that can even be modded.
It is my intention to show GPG there is a real interest in mods for Kings and Castles and that it would be a sound investment of time and money to expand modding in Kings and Castles to something more along the lines of Forged Alliance.
PLEASE don't vote unless you are serious about your answer.
PLEASE don't reply with an alternate answer.|||I was seriously tempted to take the bottom option, but playing the game with mods won the day. :)|||Mods determine whether I buy this game or not, it's that simple.|||I'm not saying that I wouldn't still be playing FA were it not for the mods. However, there are so many fantastic mods for FA that I guess we've been spoiled. I would very much enjoy it if K&C were as moddable.|||If this game has mod manager style support, then I will preorder for full price. If not, then I will wait a couple months until its in the bargin bin on steam, because it doesnt have mod support (ie, supcom2)
Just a note: Are you sure that when chris said that it would have the same level as sc2, he didnt mean starcraft 2?|||Doubtful, as Starcraft 2 has one of the best map editors in an RTS to date.|||Pretty much, if there is no modding, I will wait for bargain bin prices as well. I am a firm believer in paying in ratio to the amount of time I expect to play something. A week or two of fun is not worth $60 to me. Maybe $15. With modding, I would expect to play it a lot longer and so would be willing to play more.|||I voted that I would enjoy playing with mods, for the good of the greater modding community. In FA, I have dozens of mods in my mods folder, half of them unplayed. The only mods I actually use much are the GAZ_UI mod, the Lobby Enhancement Mod, Duncane's AI fixes, and the Community Bugfix Mod, and sometimes a few other utility mods. Unit packs and other content mods always look interesting to me, I download them, and they sit in the folder doing nothing, or are played at most once.
I'm not a big fan of playing with mods, but since many other people want them, I will support their position "for the greater good."|||The thing that kept me from buying SupCom2 for PC was the lack of a mod manager. I had a lot of fun playing with friends using mods such as total veterancy and blackops in FA. I know enough to easily install mods without a mod manager, but it is too much of a hassle to switch between mods with no mod manager.
I would not personally use the modding support to make mods, as my experience with modding is limited to just changing numbers, such as popcap in campaign. But I would definitely play with mods as long as there is a mod manager. Something like the vault would be useful as well, and certainly make things easier, but it is not absolutely necessary.
Edit: And I also hold the same position as Grim Tuesday and Seiya and buying it without mod support: I'll wait for bargain bin prices on steam.|||X-Cubed|||Congratulations, you noticed that people like mods. What's next, people like sex?|||And here we go again... anywho, even though I'm not a modder, neither am I fully capable of understanding the instructions (jk) but modding would improve the overall game and bring more to the table than just patches could.... Creativity runs low when on full capacity.
