Are some "experimental" units purely defensive?

For example, in one of the earlier vlogs, we saw the giant king statue come alive to defend his castle. Will some of the units available for the factions simply be defensive? So for instance, once the opposing army has been slaughtered or routed, the unit will return to its pedestal (or whatever kept it in one place if it has one) and await the next time it needs to be summoned.
Or, is the giant king statue merely something that once "awakened," can then be lead off to battle at the opposing castle?
Additionally, since the giant king statue is made out of stone, how exactly will its health work? Will it be auto-healing (would be sort of weird since it's stone), can it be repaired by workmen of some kind, or is it simply unrepairable?
Would you guys like experimentals that can't leave the vicinity of their castle, and instead are castle guardians?|||I think that being able to tell your experimental to do whatever you like it to do and have it obey, like any unit, would be nice. If you want to keep it in your castle and use it for defense, you can; if you want to go attack the enemy's base, you can do that too.|||Any of you played Age of Mythology? In the end of the campaign, you have to fight a living statue of Poseidon, which is quite alot like this guy. He is restricted to his castle, so if you you retreat, he won't follow you. He doesnt appear in multiplayer, but I think that the statue will be like a midevil point defense, within your castle.|||I'd rather the statue stay in your castle area.|||it would depend honestly, i like the idea of a statue defense king when my walls are broken, but then i also like the idea of using said king to go along with my army to break my enemies walls :? *conflicted*|||Lt_hawkeye|||any kind of limits as to how we can or cannot use units is a bad idea.
i.e. area restriction.|||Just have a Giant Beast of some sort with a collar, chained up to pillar in the ground. Thus, it can only move in a certain range because of its chain ;)
