The concept of armoured mobile vehicles has been around since 800bc, and were easily used by the Romans. Try Siege towers.
putting wheels on any old catapult, balista or variant thereof with a leather & iron clad front and you more or less have a pre-medieval era tank.
A siege tower is almost like a mobile castle in many ways. Try that for size as a faction's "legendary". This is borderline steampunk right there, it doesn't have to be victorian steampunk.|||Aye, Siege towers and catapults/ballistas on wheels are fine but going for steampunk tanks... not necessary imo. Keep it medieval at first, that's gonna be hard enough already.
