Don't you think that this isn't really good for the KnC product because less and less people keep watching these forums? The project will be forgotten soon, even those who were interested don't come here any more. And I am a little pissed to hear that GPG takes over the AOE Online production. The more KnC gets delayed the more outdated will it be and all the work we appreciated to follow will be for nothing.
All I ask for is a little "Hey guys, we are still here. Currently we have to work on AOE but as soon as its done and we got from cash from there we'll make KnC even more awesome."
Perhaps an ETA for when KnC production will be resumed or something.. Really not big things I'm demanding here|||While the choice of words and... enthusiasm expressed in the OP are questionable, the general frustration in the post, I think, is felt by a lot of folks who got excited for Kings and Castles.
While I wouldn't have written a post such as the one above, my sentiments aren't too far off. Chris and the folks at GPG spent a lot of time finding a new way to promote their game. They got a lot of people excited. They were going to try something different. Then they just stopped saying anything. If the game is on hold, its on hold. But GPG has lost some of its credibility with me (and I suspect with others) by not stepping up to the podium (a simple forum post from Chris or another GPG rep would do) and say what's what.
I was really pumped for Kings and Castles. I could honestly not care any less for Age of Empires Online. I'm sure it will appeal to a lot of folks - but it isn't the RTS I want to play. If that is the direction GPG wants to go. That is their choice. But before I bother to hype another of their games by word of mouth, I'll except that they actually make good on their promises. Because by not saying something here, on their official board, to their community that has so much faith in them and love of their games, they really let me down.|||I agree the origional post does have a point ofc it is an immature post however i do agree a bit more than just silence would be appreciated as if ur going to inform the community at the start u have to go through with it till the end or ull lose alot of fans.|||AoEO is taking up almost all of GPG's capacity right now. KnC is on indefinite hold. The nature of game development makes giving out ETAs very risky since someone will be disappointed. Remember, AoEO is more of an MMO; GPG isn't going to finish the game, put out a few patches, then leave the game to work on KnC. AoEO will require much more time as new content is produced and released for the game. How much and how long that will take is dependent on Microsoft.|||It was really hard to top the immense amount of fail in the OP Korsan - but you did it! Kudos!

You don't, under any circumstance, especially as an independent developer working from project to project, turn down money. AoEO represents a franchise that can earn money. KnC won't be earning money for another 1.5 to 2 years at least if GPG had kept working on it.|||Given the overall tone of the OP, I don't like posting in this thread, but for the sake of the rest of the posters in this thread, I will.I thought there was an official word on the current state of KnC. I will ping Servo tomorrow and ask if he can give a reply here to clear things up.

Just because you have some fans giving feedback doesn't mean you are immune to financial problems. All the good ideas in the world mean nothing unless you have lots of money and/or time, neither of which GPG has. So far you don't seem to get that.
